We've completely reimagined what the shell jacket should be and how it's constructed. We've added panels on the sides and the sleeves in a very high-stretch yet tightly knit fabric that allows us to give the jacket a modern, close-to-body fit for aero gains on any terrain, and it actually keeps more heat in than a jacket that's flapping about. We've kept it very compact so that it can pack away into minimal space in a jersey pocket. The Premio Bibshort has been engineered to provide the ultimate in long-distance comfort and to be your favorite bibshort ever. That's a big claim, but there's a lot of development in this short to back it up. So let's take a tour of the short. The first thing you might notice is what's missing: the seams and multiple panels. We engineered a new fabric that changes depending on the needs over various parts of the body. The lower leg has a raw-cut leg ending and rubberized yarns to guarantee a flat grip to keep the leg in place. The fabric becomes lighter in the thigh, while the four-way stretch provides just the right amount of muscle support. In the pelvis area, the compression and support increase to keep the seat pad and everything else in place, and the fabric gets thicker to avoid any embarrassing transparency issues. With this magical fabric we don't need to stitch separate panels together, which ensures more comfort and a better fit, as well as a sleek, sophisticated look. The premium fabrics extend into the bib straps. The perforated back keeps you cool and the edge is bonded so you don't feel the thickness of a stitched edge. The elastic straps have just enough modulus (return) to hold your shorts securely in place without cutting in to your shoulders. The seat pad is our top-of-the-line Progetto X2 Air Seamless pad. It's actually two separate components: a soft, stretchy Skin Care Layer next to your skin, which has the sole purpose of preventing any rubbing on your skin, and, under that, the Cushioning Layer, which features two separate densities of foam along with breathable perforated gel inserts under the ischia bones and perineum. We've carried the less-is-more theme into the design, with minimalist laser-etched logos and subtle finishing. It looks as premium as it feels. Don't Limit Yourself We made this short to meet Castelli's high standards for comfort and performance in a cycling short while adding a few extra features that come in handy for riding on any surface. You'll find our normal exceptional fit as well as the KISS Air2 seat pad, which provides generous anatomically placed padding with an exceptionally soft top layer. What makes this short special is the extremely durable Unlimited Lycra fabric. It has higher abrasion resistance and tear resistance while not compromising on stretch, moisture management or comfort. In addition, we use double-layer side panels for the old track rider's trick of fabric-sliding-on-fabric should you fall.
